Timber Wolf

This is a social animal that mates for life usually seasonally between January and April and lives in packs of 2-15. The leader of the pack is the strongest male; there are usually about 7 pups in a litter though there also can be as much as eleven.

The animals prefer open tundra and forests. Once they were known to inhabit most of North America, now their distribution occurs in only Alaska, Canada, and parts of the U.S.A. The population of the animals is decreased due to human fear, superstition, and outright hatred of this animal.
